NIA Recruitment 2026 - 111 Vacancies

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has invited nominations for 111 posts of Assistant Sub-Inspector, Head Constable and Data Entry Operator.

Important: This recruitment is on deputation basis. It is not a direct recruitment examination open to all graduates or 12th-pass candidates. Applicants must already be serving in eligible government departments or police organisations and satisfy the prescribed service conditions.

Eligibility Conditions

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI)

• Must hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department, or fulfil the specified feeder-grade eligibility conditions.
• The prescribed alternative feeder-grade route includes regular service as Head Constable in Level 4 for the required period.
• Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in criminal investigation, intelligence work, operations or IT management are required under the applicable alternative eligibility route.

Head Constable

• Must hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
• Must have passed 12th Standard or possess the equivalent qualification.
• Other service conditions in the official notification apply.

Data Entry Operator (DEO)

• Must hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
• Must possess the prescribed IT qualification, such as an O Level or A Level certificate.
• Other service conditions in the official notification apply.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications, subject to the conditions in the deputation notification.

Salary Details

Allowances and deputation benefits are subject to applicable Government rules and the terms of appointment.
