Difficulty Analysis

Easy

This exam is considered easy. Good preparation with standard books is sufficient.

Preparation Strategy

1. Focus on Science: General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology at 10th level) carries the highest weightage in Group D. Read NCERT Class 9–10 Science books thoroughly. 2. Mathematics – Speed Over Accuracy: Group D maths is 10th level but speed matters in CBT. Practice shortcuts for percentage, ratio, and number systems. 3. Reasoning – Easy Marks: Reasoning in Group D is straightforward. Series, analogies, and coding-decoding are repeated patterns. Practice daily for 30 minutes. 4. General Awareness: Focus on current affairs (last 6 months) and Indian Railways facts. Railway-specific GK is frequently tested. 5. Physical Preparation: Start preparing for PET from the beginning. Daily running of 1 km and weightlifting practice is essential. PET failures are very common. 6. Use NCERT Books: For Science, use NCERT Class 8, 9, and 10 books. These directly cover Group D science questions. 7. Previous Year Papers: Solve at least 5 years of RRB Group D previous papers. Questions frequently repeat with minor variations. 8. Target Score: Aim for 80+ out of 100 in the CBT to be safe.
