Difficulty Analysis

Medium

This exam has moderate difficulty. Consistent preparation over 3–6 months is recommended.

Preparation Strategy

1. Tier 1 is the Filter: Tier 1 (CBE) determines who goes to Tier 2. Score as high as possible in Tier 1 since competition is fierce at this stage. 2. English is Key: English carries significant weight and is easier to score than Maths for many candidates. Focus on grammar rules, vocabulary, and comprehension. 3. Reasoning – Standard Pattern: Reasoning in CHSL is easier than CGL. Focus on analogies, series, and classification. Practice 20–30 questions daily. 4. Maths – 10+2 Level: All maths topics are at 12th standard level. Focus on Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. Practice Tier 2 maths separately as it is harder. 5. Typing / Skill Test Preparation: If aiming for LDC/Postal Assistant posts, practice typing from day one. Aim for 40+ WPM with accuracy to clear the skill test comfortably. 6. GK and Current Affairs: Read the last 6 months' current affairs. Focus on static GK — History, Geography, Polity — which contribute heavily to CHSL Tier 1. 7. Tier 2 Maths: Tier 2 Math paper is significantly harder than Tier 1. Dedicate extra time to Trigonometry and Geometry for Tier 2. 8. Target Score: Aim for 175+ out of 200 in Tier 1 to be competitive for most posts.
